On-Site Medic

Compensation

  1. $350 per week of employment.

  2. Housing and board provided on-site.

  3. Staff members will work six days per week with occasional weekend responsibilities.

Responsible for the health and safety of campers and staff during summer
programming.

Requirements

  1. Understanding of the philosophy, mission, and programs of Luther Point Bible Camp.

  2. Strong commitment to the care and appreciation of God's creation.

  3. Must be 18 years of age or older.

  4. Willingness to serve, live and work in a servant-oriented, Christ-centered community.

  5. Flexible approach to serving areas of camp life.

Essential Functions 

  1. Ability to communicate and work with groups of children and families of all ages, with different skill levels. Must be able to provide all necessary instructions to campers.

  2. Ability to observe camper behavior, assess its appropriateness, enforce appropriate safety regulations and emergency procedures, and use appropriate behavior management techniques.

  3. Visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental and other hazards related to camp activities and the safety of campers.

  4. Must be able to assist campers in emergency situations (fire, storm, evacuation, illness, or injury); observe loading and unloading of buses, vans, or cars; and possess the strength and endurance necessary to maintain constant supervision of campers.

  5. Ability to effectively communicate and provide direction for summer staff.

Specific Responsibilities

  1. Preparation

    1. Familiarization with the summer camp program and personnel policies prior to arrival at camp as indicated in pre-arrival mailings

    2. Participation in the leadership and summer staff training sessions.

  2. Program Implementation

    1. Facilitate the intake and dispersion of medications to campers and staff on a week-by-week basis.

    2. Be available and willing to handle all situations that might arise medically throughout each week for campers and staff.

    3. Responsible for assisting in the overall camp program functionality and efficiency.

    4. Work with other Team Leaders and Program Director to facilitate worships and the overall program at camp.

    5. Connect with pastors and youth directors attending the camp programs on a daily basis.

  3. Camp and Community Life

    1. Participation in community living with other staff.

    2. Participation in community worship, prayer and devotions, work projects and social events.

    3. Share responsibilities for dishes, kitchen help, camp cleaning, office assistance, maintenance assistance and other tasks necessary to provide good service and hospitality to guests as required by the Camp Director.
